Question:
Is it possible for a merchant to import credit card data from a previous processor to our gateway so they can use our aliases for recurring billing etc. ?
Answer:
Yes, OpenEdge can import card data sent to us from a previous processor. The steps below outline the data transfer process.
1. Merchant will need to contact their current service provider and inform them that they are moving their services to OpenEdge, a Division of Global Payments, and therefore they are requesting their customers’ data transfer to OpenEdge and provide the current service provider with our Corporate Applications Specialist’s contact information to coordinate the transfer with. Please note that the current provider may ask merchant to sign some forms or documents in order to release their information and pay a fee which is a pretty standard protocol for payment providers.
(Refer to tables below for contact information)
The Merchant must contact Anna Kulina-Pate at OpenEdge to inform us that they have initiated the process with their current provider, and provide us with their point of contact which we’ll use to establish a card data conversion case for tracking purposes.
2. If the current provider is one that we’ve handled card data imports for in the past, they will have access to the OpenEdge SFTP site where they can send the card data to as well as the OpenEdge Public PGP key to encrypt their file with.
Otherwise, Anna will provide them with our SFTP site, a unique set of credentials, and our Public PGP Key. Our Corporate Application Specialist will also provide them with a specific SFTP Site path to import the file to for the merchant which will encompass the OpenEdge Case Number.
3. The current provider will encrypt their file (.CSV format) containing the following information with the OpenEdge PGP Key, and upload it to the OpenEdge SFTP path provided.
4. OpenEdge will provide an output .CSV file through our SFTP site for our Partner to retrieve the file from. The output file will be encrypted with the Partner public PGP key. The file will contain the following information.
5. The OpenEdge Integrated Partner will import the file into their application’s database making it ready for use. A sample output file can be provided upon request.
