Konek is a Canadian digital payment solution developed by Interac Corp. and supported by major financial institutions like RBC, TD, BMO, Scotia Bank and National Bank in Canada. With Konek, customers can pay online directly from their bank accounts, debit cards, or credit cards, offering a secure and convenient alternative to traditional card payments.

Payment method and network optionality	Customers can choose from multiple payment options, including Interac Debit. This flexibility can help merchants reduce payment processing costs.
Multiple Financial Institutions support	Customers can link multiple financial institutions to a single Konek profile, allowing them to choose the account they want to pay from at checkout.

How does it work?

The customer selects Pay with Konek at checkout.
The customer is redirected to Konek UI.
The customer is authenticated using online or mobile banking.
The customer logs in to their preferred choice of Financial Institution.
The customer provides consents to financial institutions (agrees to terms & conditions) to share limited personal information and card or account information with Konek and the merchant, while sensitive financial details remain tokenized and protected from merchant access.
The customer does the card or account selection for payment.
Konek obtains a payment token corresponding to the account selected by the customer.
Global Payments will return the payment consent ID and status to you.
You will initiate the payment authorization with Global Payments.
Global Payments processes the payment.

Enable a Konek wallet

To enable the Konek wallet for your integration, the process depends on whether you are using the Global Payments Drop-in UI or your own payment page.

Option 1: Using Global Payments Drop-in UI

If you are planning to use the Global Payments Drop-in UI, contact your Global Payments representative and provide the following details:

Merchant ID
Account Name

Once we receive your information, we will:

Onboard your account.
Onboard you with Konek.
Enable KONEK support in both sandbox and production.

Option 2: Using Your Own Payment Page

If you are using your own payment page, you will need to complete an additional integration step.

Integrate the KONEK SDK into your payment page.
Set up a Pay By KONEK button on your payment page.
After or during your integration, contact your Global Payments representative and provide:
- Merchant ID
- Account Name

Once we receive your information, we will:

Onboard your account.
Onboard you with Konek.
Enable Konek wallet support in both sandbox and production.
