API Usage Guidelines

OneCard API is a set of web services allowing third-party software developers to integrate their applications with the Heartland Campus Solutions OneCard system.

OneCard API uses HTTPS protocol.
OneCard API is a RESTful web API service.
All OneCard API request calls must use the POST method.

The developer can select the response to be serialized in JSON format.

Set Content-Type to JSON format.
To override the Content-Type result, set the HTTP Accept header to application/json.

The developer can select a preferred language for the response by setting the Accept-Language request header.

The system defaults to English if the selected language is not supported.
The server informs the client of the selected language with the Content-Language response header.

All request parameters are case-insensitive.

All responses include a Status property with either OK or Error.

For transaction endpoints, Status=OK means the transaction request was processed, not that the transaction itself passed. To determine pass/fail, check the rest of the response payload, usually in the Result object, and verify TransactionPass.
