Payment Application is a mobile application that turns your iOS or Android device into a payment terminal. It works with a card reader connected via Bluetooth and offers features like virtual terminal, digital invoicing, recurring billing, and cloud-based reporting.
This article will address common questions about our Payment Application and instructions for using it on Verifone, PAX, and BBPOS devices. Just click on the tab below for the device you're working with.
These steps walk you through the process of configuring a static IP address on a Verifone device running Payment Application. Setting a static IP can be necessary for network stability, improved connection reliability, or to meet specific network configuration requirements.
These steps walk you through connecting a Payment Application Verifone terminal to a WiFi network. A stable WiFi connection is essential for smooth payment processing and communication with the payment gateway.
The SSID (network name) you selected should now display “Connected”.
Your device's application must be configured for USB communication to support this functionality.

For Java, use the following:
device.setOnMessageSent(System.out::println);device.setOnMessageReceived(System.out::println);See Portico's incremental authorization rules.
The below diagram is a recommendation of how a network could be configured to communicate between a device and a POS system that are on separate networks. We can only provide support related to payment application functionality.
Unless otherwise specified during configuration, terminals will use DHCP to obtain an IP address. Should you want to change this to a static IP, you can update this configuration via the terminal by navigating to Settings > Network & Internet > Advanced options.
Keep in mind that if you change this via the terminal only, your changes will be kept with the terminal and not loaded onto our system.
This request can be logged via OnMessageSent:
_device.OnMessageSent += (message) => { Assert.IsNotNull(message); };The response can be logged by calling ToString on the response object.
The first line (OnMessageSent event handler on the device object) is responsible for request logging. The second line (calling ToString on the response object) is responsible for response logging. You will need both for request and response logging.
The Card Brands do state that obtaining a signature is optional. However, some Card Brands require a signature to remedy different dispute reason codes. Because a signature is required for certain dispute reason codes, as a best practice, we recommend merchants to continue to obtain signatures for dispute purposes.
This is likely due to poor device handling in the class. Ensure that there aren't too many functions being called before returning to avoid this delay.
You would need to use an integer to pass the value, not a float or decimal.
As long as the device uses the same communication method, e.g., TCP/IP, HTTP, or Serial, you can use one of the existing devices in the list in your connection config.
You will need to verify that your five-part credentials (username, password, license, site id, device id) are correctly configured in your device. Please email us at CCOE_SI@globalpay.com for assistance with this error.
No, the accounts are separate. You cannot see both transaction details using the same gateway login credentials.
Yes, each semi-integrated terminal manufacturer has its own integration methods. Please email us at CCOE_SI@globalpay.com if you have additional questions related to these options.
Our Semi-Integrated SDK Reference should provide the information you need.
A VRF is a Validation Request Form. This form is used to gather information about your project. It also gathers details about how you would like your test merchant account and hardware configured.
